Mangaluru, May 31: The Dakshina Kannada co-operative milk producers association will observe the 15th celebration of World Milk Day in a special way on June 1st.
On the occasion of “World Milk Day” on June 1st; the Dakshina Kannada co-operative milk producers association has organized various programmes such as distribution of milk and fruits to the patients in Wenlock and Lady Goshen hospitals here, felicitation to the Nandini dealers, felicitation to the drivers/conductors for their remarkable service in distributing Nandini milk and milk products, and inauguration programmes of – guest house of the association, Agro waste based steam machine, and meeting hall of the association.
Addressing a press meet, President of the association Raviraj Hegde informed this to the media and said the international food and agricultural organization has announced milk as “World Food”. The Milk is accredited by the world as complete food. Hence, the event aims at educating on the importance of milk to the people, identifying and felicitating those who involved themselves in animal husbandry.
On June 1st, at 7.30 am; fruits and milk will be distributed to the children at Jeppu Child care centre. Fruits and milk will be distributed to the patients at Wenlock hospital at 10am and at Lady Goschen hospital at 11.30 am respectively and awareness will be created about the importance of world Milk Day, he said.
Dignitaries such as Health Minister U T Kahder, MLA JR Lobo, Superintendent of Wenlock Hospital, Dr Shakunthala, president of the association-Raviraj Hegde, managing director Dr B V Satyanarayana and others will be present, during fruits and milk distribution program for the patients organized at Wenlock and Lady Goschen hospitals, he informed.
A program will take place at 2.30pm at the associations meeting hall in dairy at Kulshekar here.
Guest house will be inaugurated by District In-charge Minister B Ramanath Rai. MP Nalin Kumar Kateel will inaugurate the agro waste based steam machine. President of DK district central co-operative bank- Dr M N Rajendra Kumar will inaugurate the associations meeting hall. Felicitation programme will be inaugurated by MLA JR Lobo and Mayor Jacintha will felicitate the drivers/conductors for their remarkable service in distributing Nandini products. The event will be presided over by the president of the association Raviraj Hegde. Many dignitaries are expected to participate in this event, said Raviraj Hegde.
Director of the association Dr K M Krishna Bhat, Ashok Kumar Shetty, Haddur Rajeev Shetty, managing director Dr B V Satyanarayana, Managers- B N Vijaya Kumar, Dr Nityananda, Rajshekar Murthy and others were present in the press meet.
