Mangaluru, May 31: The two little boys whose family in distress at Kakkebettu Kalpane, was rescued by the child help line few days ago.
These little children’s mother too has expired on Saturday, May 30th at Wenlock hospital here.

Mallika (32) is the deceased person. Her husband Srinivas (38) had died on May 20th at Wenlock hospital where he was taking treatment. Srinivas was paralysed a few months before he expired.
The news about this family was published in the media after the child line had rescued the family.
The family of five which lived in a single house in Kakkebettu is scattered now with the husband and wife who have expired within a gap of only ten days. The relatives of the poor family have promised that they would look after the mother of Srinivas. She is weak due to old age.

The locals who saw the pitiable state of the family informed the Child line-1098 and Department of Women and Child Development officer Gulabi, along with supervisor Sudha, anganwadi teachers Maalthi,and Rufina, and Sampath Katti of Child line-1098 visited the family.
They noticed that Shreenivas had fallen down from the bed onto the floor, and was unable to lie down on the bed by himself. His wife Mallika was also bedridden and was unable to take care of the family.
His aged helpless mother was found shedding tears urging for help.
Immediately the officials phoned the ambulance and shifted the parents to Wenlock hospital. The children were rehabilitated by the department in the initial stage.
Srinivas was working as a labourer for a liquor company in the past. Yet he managed to build a small house of his own. After he was paralysed, his wife Mallika was very much disturbed and depressed due to husband’s ill health and financial conditions.
The children were handed over later to their uncle Prakash.
Misery of the family continues as two deaths have take place within a gap of few days.
