Mangaluru, May 25: In the wake of upcoming gram panchayat elections, the parties are busy in canvassing although the elections are not being held on party lines.

Addressing a press meet in the city on Monday May 25th, district in-charge minister B Ramanath Rai said that Congress has filed a complaint against the BJP with the deputy commissioner for violation of election model code of conduct for distributing pamphlets which list the achievements of one year of Modi-led government. This is a criminal offence, he said.

Speaking further, Rai queried, why the fuel prices are not reduced in spite of the reduction in the price of crude oil to 65 dollars a barrel in the international market? When UPA was in power, the price of crude oil per barrel was 135 dollars, still the then government provided fuel for Rs 75. Where is the black money which the Prime Minister Narendra Modi had assured prior to the Lok Sabha elections?

The union government is not sanctioning grants for various projects introduced by the erstwhile UPA government, he alleged.

On this occasion, MUDA President Ibrahim Kodijal, Mithun Rai and others were present.
