Mangaluru, May 25: A private bus leaned to aside and fell into a plantation close-by in Moodbidri on the morning of Monday May 25th.
The incident occurred on the national highway connecting Mangaluru from Handelusuttu within Puttige gram panchayat jurisdiction.
The bus belongs to Canara Pinto Travels, and was moving on Mumbai-Mangaluru route. While traversing through Handelusuttu where the road is curvy, the driver lost control over the bus, post which the bus got tilted aside and fell into the plantation. The bus had already offloaded passengers in the town and only two passengers were travelling in the bus at the time of the accident. All escaped unscathed.
The locals helped a woman passenger to come out of the fallen bus.
As the bus fell into the plantation, two coconut trees got uprooted and collapsed down. Bus was heavily damaged in the accident.
Local Police rushed to the venue and inspected.
