New solid waste management system of MCC has achieved 60 percent success-Mayor Jacintha

Mangaluru, May 8: Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mangalore felicitated Mayor of Mangalore City Corporation Jacintha Vijay Alfred on Thursday, May 7th.

Speaking after receiving the felicitation, Mayor said, the new solid waste management system implemented by the Mangalore City Corporation has achieved sixty percent success. Attempts are being made to achieve 100 percent success. The solid waste collection and management is going on well, she said. In future, this system will be extended to the outskirts of the city, she said.

Deputy Mayor Purushottam Chitrapura said, the solid waste management cess imposed by MCC is more than SAS. All measures are employed in order to reduce this. Coming year this cess will be reduced, he informed.

It is sad to learn that malaria cases are more in Mangaluru. We have formed teams to curb malaria and chikoon gunya. MPW workers are deployed to create malaria awareness among the publics. We are striving hard to avoid the spread of malaria in the region, he said.

Deputy Mayor Purushottam Chitrapura was also felicitated on this occasion.

KCCI vice president Rammohan Pai Maruru, General Secretary Jeevan Saldhana, and M Ganesh Baht were present among others on this occasion.
