Mangaluru, May 8: Centenary celebration’s of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi’s first visit to Mangaluru was organized at the Office of Information Department here on Friday, May 8th.
District Kannada Sahitya Parishat President Pradeep Kumar Kalkura inaugurated the programme.
Speaking on this occasion, he emphasized the need to follow the ideals of non-violence and mutual respect for different religions which were preached by Mahatma Gandhiji. Gandhiji’s ideals are relevant at all times, he said.
The present generation has the great responsibility of passing the ideals of the Mahatma Gandhi to next generation in-order to build an India of Gandhiji’s dreams.
On this occasion, Principal of Badriya College, Prof. Ismail, Information Department Officer Khader Shah, and others were present.
