Cops arrest notorious rowdy sheeter Sampath Bhandary

Mangaluru, May 4: Urwa police have arrested a rowdy sheeter from Panjimogaru, outskirts of Mangaluru city on Monday May 4th.

Urwa cops led by SI Ravish Naik arrested Sampath Bhandary (35), a resident of Urundadigudde near Panjimogaru.



Sampath allegedly had threatened the owner of Mahima bus by brandishing a weapon and demanded money; on the charges of which the accused was arrested.

Sampath Bhandary is an accused in the murder of rowdy sheeter Vamanjoor Rohi alias Rohidas Shetty which took place in 2009. Initially he was arrested in the case, but was freed on bail sometime ago by the second additional district and sessions court.

Sampath faces about 12 to 14 cases in Kavoor police station, said the police sources.

Cops have recovered a sword from Sampath Bhandary.
