Mangaluru, May 2: A woman expired on the spot after a bus knocked the two wheeler in which she was travelling. The accident took place near Town Hall here on Saturday May 2nd.
Prema (56), wife of Krishna Gatty, resident of Vamanjoor is the deceased.
Krishna Gatty was riding his Activa while Prema was sitting pillion. The accident took place while they were moving towards the Central market. In a turn, a city bus (bus number 13) rammed to their scooter, after which Prema lost balance and fell on the road. Prema expired on the spot after the rear tyres of the bus ran over her.
Krishna Gatty escaped with minor injuries.
The body was shifted to Wenlock hospital for postmortem.
Prema has left behind her husband, two sons and a daughter. One of their sons, Chandramohan, is a police in Bajpe station. Prema was a gram panchayat member in Bajpe.
A case has been registered by Pandeshwar police.
