CM Siddaramaiah lays foundation stone for new congress bhavan in Mangaluru

Mangaluru, April 25: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah laid the foundation stone for new district Congress Bhavan at Mallikatta here on Friday April 24th.

Formal function post the ceremony was organized at Kadri ground.

Speaking on this occasion Siddaramaiah gave a call to the congress activists and said, the congress activists should work such that all the gram panchayats will come under congress in the upcoming elections during May end. If the party wins in the gram panchayat elections, the foundation of the party becomes strong. In future the party will win in all ways, he said.

Some time ago I had decided not to contest in the coming elections. But the BJP is speaking of making Karnataka free from congress. This is impossible. To take it as a challenge, I will contest in the coming elections, congress will be brought to power again, he said.

The congress activists need not be disheartened. In the coming elections led by Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, there is no doubt in congress rising to power, he said.

Former Central Minister Janardhan Poojary speaking on this occasion said, in order to construct a hunger free Karnataka, free rice distribution work has been decided by CM Siddaramaiah is a history which none of the chief ministers have under taken. This is a great achievement done by Siddaramaiah , he said.

The event was presided over by DK district congress president and Minister B Ramanath Rai.

Ministers Vinay Kumar Sorake, U T Khadar, Abhaychandra Jain, MLA’s J R Lobo, Mohiuddin Bava and Shakuntala Shetty, MLC Ivan D’Souza, Mayor Jacintha Alfred, Suresh Ballal, B A Moideen, Kanachur Monu, Mohammed Masood, Vijay Kumar Shetty, Mithun Rai, Divya Prabha, Mamatha D S Gatti, Ashish Pereira,  Shashidhar Hegde and others were present.

DK District congress interim President Ibrahim Kodijal welcomed the gathering. Former Mayor Sashidhar Hegde proposed the vote of thanks. Razak Kukkaje compeered the program.

Siddaramaiah also laid the foundation stone for the new building of Hira Women’s Composite PU College at Thokkotu and also visited Sri Raja Rajeshwari Siddhivinayaka Temple, in the evening.
