Bantwal Police arrested three wanted persons in connection with several cases of theft

Bantwal/Mangalore, June 12:  It has been reported that Bantwal police have arrested three persons, who were on hunt in connection with several theft cases, which rocked the city and valuables of worth Rs 60,000/=have also been seized from them .

Those arrested are Umar Farooq alias Farooq (23) of Sajipamuda, Mohammad Shakir (24) of Adyarpadavu and Santhu alias Santosh (24) of Mugralgude in Bantwal.

The three were wanted in connection with the theft of goods worth Rs 40,000 from a steel shop at Panemangalore and also two other shops at Melkar and BC Road.

Once, earlier they have been arrested in an areca nut theft case and released on bail subsequently, they had again resorted to robbery after coming out of the jail.

Interrogations of the three have revealed that they used to steal LPG cylinders and even sell them.  They have also said that they have sold some of the stolen mobile sets in Mysore.
