Poverty, illiteracy, large family are the root causes for Child labour system

Mangalore, June 12: Kaanoonu seva pradhikara, DK dist, Mangalore and DK Dist, Mangalore and Zilla Balakaarmika Yojana Sangha, DK District, Mangalore jointly organized “world-day “against Child labour and training camp at  Town hall Mangalore, on June 12 Wednesday.

Pragramme was inaugurated by lighting the traditional lamp by district & session judge and President Chaupadkar Arun.

After inaugurating the programe judge said in his address that a social problem cannot be battled out by a single individual while it requires the support and co-operation of many. In the wake of curbing child labour and to mark ‘World-day against child labour’ dignitaries from all fields came together at Town Hall, Mangalore.

Society has witnessed many cases of child labour and many times it goes unreported. Strict action needs to be taken against violators. There is a law in force and people need to invoke it opined District & Sessions Judge Chaupdakar Arun.

Deputy Commissioner N Prakash opined that the general public needs to support the cause and only then one can emerge victorious over this social issue. If the issues are not brought to the notice of the authorities, then the existing law proves to be of no use. Hence, he urged the public to report any instance of child labour in the city.
