Beltangady, April 10: A huge crowd welcomed Dr D Veerendra Heggade at Dharmasthala after receiving the prestigious Padma Vibhushan, award from the President of India. He was escorted with a grand procession on Thursday April 9th.
On their return to Shree Kshethra Dhrmasthala, Dr D Veerendra Heggade and his wife Hemavathi were escorted in a specially decorated chariot accompanied by music bands and colourful tableaux.
A stage programme was held later at Amritavarshini auditorium in Dharmasthala, during which Dr Heggade addressing the audience said, I am fortunate to be the Dharmadhikari of Dharmasthala, and lucky to have such a great family and crew. After receiving this award, my responsibilities have increased. I will work with much more dedication and determination. I dedicate all my work, all my success and the fame I have earned to Lord Manjunathaswamy.
Hemavathi Heggade expressed gratitude to all the people working at Shree Kshetra Dharmashtala, followers and the general public for their support.
MLA Vasanth Bangera, Harshendra Kumar, Surendra Kumar, Rajendra Kumar were present along with others on this occasion.
