Mangaluru, April 7: M Raghunath Shet (72), owner of S L Shet Jewellers and Diamond House, rested in eternal peace on Tuesday April 7th.
Three days ago he was hospitalized to KMC hospital here after he experienced difficulty in breathing. He passed away on Tuesday at around 11.30 am.
S L Shet Jewellers was set up in 1947 by Subraya Lakshman Shet. M Ragunath Shet, his eldest son, joined the business in 1965 along with his brother M Ravindra Shet. In 1984, Raghunath Shet formed a partnership firm in the name of S L Shet Jewellers and Diamond House, along with 3 other partners namely M Ravindra Shet, M Prashanth Shet and Padma R Shet.
Raghunath Shet also served as president of Konkani Bhasha Mandal, Karnataka, and was a founding member of Vishwa Konkani Kendra. He was renowned for his social works.
Raghunath Shet is survived by his wife Padma, a daughter and four sons.
