Since the past three years, Rajesh was employed with MAM International Corporation in Sana’a. After spending a month’s vacation at his hometown, on April 19th he had returned to Yemen. Happy Rajesh, narrated his experiences of war struck Yemen with the media and said that he never wishes to return to Yemen again.

On the day I reached Yemen, two bomb blasts had claimed lives of 150 and 175 were left injured. Till March 29th, the war was taking place only at nights, but from the next day, it continued even during day too. A bomb had blasted just 500 metres away from the place where I stayed. It was scary and it was impossible to move out after March 25th. I was worried of my return to India. I did not speak to the media as I did not want my family to be worried, he said.

Due to sandstorm in the Gulf, the situation had calmed down a bit. The airport runway at Sana’a was damaged so we could not return to India sooner. After being rescued, we were taken to Djibouti and from there to Kochi. The railway staff at Kochi helped me and even provided me free ticket to Mangaluru, said Rajesh.

Rajesh thanked the central government, his friends and family and said that it is because of them he was able to reach here safely.

Union minister Sadananda Gowda and DK Deputy Commissioner A B Ibrahim had called me and gave me words of support, added Rajesh.
