Mangaluru, April 2: Trio were arrested by the rural cops from near a bus shelter close to a college at Vulachil, out skirts of Mangaluru on Tuesday March 31st.
The arrested are namely Saleem (36), ganja seller, and his customers, Manjunath (22) and Ranganath (22), both of whom allegedly bought ganja.
It is learnt that Saleem and Jabbar alias Manga Jabbar who were seated in a parked auto rickshaw, sold ganja to college students and public there.
When police conducted the raid, Jabbar escaped. The police found 1,100 grams of ganja and cash Rs 900 in possession of Saleem. Cops have seized cash, ganja, auto rickshaw, and a mobile phone from Saleem.
The cops also found eight sachets of ganja weighing 40 grams from Manjunath and Ranganath, both are students, who had arrived there to buy ganja. The cops have seized ganja, cell phone, and car from the duo. The total value of ganja seized has been calculated at Rs 22,800.
All the arrested were produced in court, who were later detained under judicial custody. Police said, Saleem faces two cases of ganja trafficking and a murder case.
The raid was conducted by team comprising Assistant Police Commissioner, Kalyan Shetty, Rural Police Inspector, Pramod Kumar, Police Sub-Inspector, M D Maddi and other police personnel.
