Mangaluru, March 27: Acting on a clue, the cops raided a home stay at Maroli here where a party was held late night on Thursday March 27th. Police had detained eight boys and four girls who were let off later.
A group of boys and girls from Bengaluru had booked the home stay and announced the party on a website, it is learnt.
According to the sources, at the same home stay, this group of youngsters were partying too on the night of Wednesday March 25th, which had continued till early hours of the morning. On Thursday night when the party continued till late, the locals informed the police and a few activists from a right-wing group also gathered.
Based on the complaint, during late night cops raided the spot. As the gate of the home stay was found to be locked, they had to jump over the compound. An elderly man opened the door, and the party was found to be going on in the top floor of the house, said the sources.
The police personnel’s, who comprised of a lady officer, spoke to the youngsters for about two hours. Later, after the Circle Inspector Pramod, had arrived to the spot, the boys and girls were separately taken to the police station.
So far, no case has been registered and the youngsters were let off after probing, said the police sources.
