Bantwal, March 24: A young married woman was found dead at her home in Bogodi near Melkar here on Monday night, March 23rd.
It is learnt that Bushra, wife of Irfan, was found hanging at her residence at around 9 pm.
It is gathered that Bushra and Irfan married about two years ago, and the couple have a two-month-old daughter.
Prima facie, the case was said to be suicide. The locals alleged that Irfan had murdered his wife and made it appear like a suicide. The locals assaulted her husband, post which tension prevailed in the vicinity and Bantwal town police had to resort to lathi charge to disperse the crowd and maintain law and order.
Bantwal ASP Rahul Kumar, Circle Inspector Belliappa and other personnels also arrived to the spot. Additional police force has been deployed at the spot in order to avoid untoward incidents.
Further investigations are in progress and the exact cause for the death is yet to be ascertained.
