Mangaluru, March 20: A two day cultural and technical fest, MVSIT “Splash- 2015” was organized at Dr M V Shetty Institute of Technology, Thodar on Thursday, March 19th.
Principal of Moodbidri S N Polytechnic, J J Pinto, inaugurated the programme.
Speaking on this occasion he said, students as well as the parents should know in order to facilitate overall development of students various competitions should be organized. The activities of fests fill life with enthusiasm and via college fests, the knowledge pertaining to today’s life can be obtained.
In the current challenging world it is necessary for the students to be aware of the changes that are taking place around us and to possess the knowledge of culture and technology along with education, he said.
Dr M V Shetty Memorial trustee Dr Divyanjali Shetty said in her presidential address that ‘Splash’ is a reflection of the intelligence of students and able guidance of the teachers.
Variety competitions such as dance, music, rangoli, quiz, fashion show, ‘Robowar’, mehandi, collage, painting, coding, gaming, dumb charades, treasure hunt, cooking, circuit breaker, paper presentation and photography were held on the occasion.
A model of helicopter similar to the one that was projected in the movie ‘Three Idiots’ was flown up in the sky for some time.
The ‘Young Bloods’ stunt group of Chikmagaluru drew the attention of the audience by exhibiting their breathtaking biking skills.
Mangaluru DySP Vinay Gaonkar flagged off the special bike rides organized as part of Splash 2015 on the first day of celebrations on Thursday March 19th.
The gathering was welcomed by Sumana. Vote of thanks was proposed by Prasanna and the programme was compeered by Sneha.
Principal of Dr M V Shetty Institute of Technology, Dr Sandeep J Nayak, College Estate officer Akshay Kumar mechanical division head Subraya Baliga were present.
