Safety measures to be put in place by schools within a month.

Mangaluru, March 18: A meeting was chaired by city police commissioner, S Murugan, with the representatives of various schools to intimate the authorities of educational institutions to ensure safety measures to the school going children. This meeting was held at the police community hall on Tuesday, March 17th.

The police have directed all the educational institutions to install CCTV cameras compulsorily in the premises of educational institutions and also install GPS devices in the school buses. The police gave a list of guidelines to be followed and precautions to be taken so that any untoward incident can be avoided which are taking place with students now a day.

K Santhosh Babu, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) said that the meeting was called in order to intimate the school managements and make them aware of the security measures to be mandatorily deployed in their respective institutions within a month to ensure security to students. If failed to deploy these security measures, then the concerned will have to answer it if any untoward incidents are reported.

The management representatives, professors, teaching staff and others in large numbers attended the meeting.
