Recent incident of college student’s tour bus stopped at Mudipu, stone pelted at mosque- Seven persons held.

Mangaluru, March 18: In relation to the recent moral policing case and stone-pelting at Noorania Juma mosque which occurred at Mudipu, seven persons have been arrested.

The Bajrang Dal activists had stopped a bus in which college students were moving on an educational tour to Mysuru and Bengaluru. Following this incident, stones were pelted to the Noorania Juma mosque.

This incident took place on Saturday night, March 14th. A group of around 300 Bajrang Dal activists had stopped a bus which was carrying students and four teachers of a college on an educational tour to Bengaluru and Mysuru, allegedly because the boys and girls in the bus belonged to different communities. The activists went on a rampage, hurled stones at the bus and later at Noorania Juma mosque and also allegedly on three persons who were travelling in an auto rickshaw.

On Tuesday March 17th, DCP Santhosh Babu informed this to the reporters prior to the road safety meeting held at DC’s office here. The DCP said that so far, three cases have been registered and seven persons have been arrested. Also, a car and three two wheelers have been recovered.

He also revealed that two teams have been formed, each led by ACP south and CCB to investigate the case and stone pelting on the mosque. Further investigations are on. DCP expressed that he wants to finish the probe and close the case sooner.
