MCC evicts shops stationed on foot paths in the city.

Mangaluru, March 17: Several petty shops stationed in the area between State Bank and Lady Goschen hospital here was evicted by the officials of Mangalore City Corporation (MCC) on Tuesday March 17th.

The unlicensed shops and vehicles selling fast food were also evicted.

Speaking to the media, deputy revenue commissioner Rajiv Mogaveer said, these petty shops were stationed on the foot paths and did not possess license. Though notice was not served, our officials had informed the shop owners about the eviction on Monday March 16th, and the operation was carried out today. This eviction was conducted under the guidance of the revenue commissioner.

The process is still going on and the final statistics will be known only by evening, he added.

Assistant revenue officer Vijay, health inspector Bharat Kumar, and other officials were part of the eviction team.
