Mangaluru, March 3: It is reported that complaint has been lodged in Pandeshwar police station against a Face Book account holder for posting abusive comments in Face Book against Jesus Christ and hurting the beliefs of Christians.
The leaders of Christian Community prior to lodging the complaint on Monday March 2nd, submitted a memorandum to Police Commissioner S Murugan and also to the Deputy Commissioner A B Ibrahim. The commissioner asked them to lodge a complaint at the police station.
It is alleged in the complaint that a person named Shriram Yadapaditthaya, had posted derogatory comments on Face Book which were deeply hurting the beliefs of Christian Community. As the comments tend to disrupt peace in the society, the delegation has urged for initiating appropriate actions.
The police have assured of initiating appropriate laws against the accused.
Fr Ronald D’Souza- Director of ICYM, Roy Castelino, Stanley Alvares, Fr J B Crasta, Sheldon Crasta, Sandeep Monteiro and others were part of the delegation.
