Mangaluru, February 24: One among the important connecting road in the city; bunts hostel to Jyothi, the newly concreted stretch was opened for traffic, making the commuters happy.
District incharge minister Ramanath Rai inaugurated the stretch on Monday February 23rd.
Rai addressing the gathered said, most of the roads in the city are already concreted and this was one among the few left. It is a very important road in Mangaluru which is also readied. He thanked the mayor Mahabala Maarla and MLA J R Lobo for the work.
MLA J R Lobo speaking on the occasion thanked the mayor, MCC commissioner and engineers for completing the work on time. Other works will be completed very soon. He also informed that, Kadri and Car Street roads will also be concreted and the work will start soon.
A C Vinayraj Corporator said that the cost of the project was Rs 2.14 crore but the work was finished at Rs 1.96 crore.
On this occasion, Mayor Mahabala Maarla, MCC commissioner Hephsiba Rani Korlapati, deputy Mayor Kavita, Asha D’Silva, and others were present.
