Bantwal, February 20: An elderly person who behaved in an indecent manner with a woman was beaten up by the public on Thursday February 19th.
The accused man is identified as Moidin (58) from Kuddupadavu.
The woman got down from a bus at the private bus stand in Vittal, works in a shop close by. Moidin followed her closely and misbehaved with her, it is said.
The Christian woman resides at Kolnad village, it is gathered.
The people thrashed Moidin for his misbehaviour, after which he attempted to escape. But the people caught hold of him, and handed him over to the cops.
It is gathered that the cops after arresting the accused have booked him under IPC section 354, and have produced before the court.
