Newly constructed ritzy church at St Anne’s friary inaugurated in Mangaluru.

Mangaluru, February 17: The newly constructed church at St Anne’s friary was inaugurated by Fr Dolphy Joseph Pais, provincial minister of Capuchins in Karnataka province; on Tuesday, February 17th.

Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza, the bishop of Mangaluru blessed the chapel on this occasion. Fr Bertrand D’Cunha, blessed the renovated St Antony’s shrine, Fr Dolphy Serrao inaugurated the new mini hall and Fr Fredrick D’Souza inaugurated the Marian grotto.

A felicitation programme was organized after the mass.

On the dais, Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza, Fr Dolphy Pais, Fr Cyprian D’Souza, Margaret Rebello (granddaughter of George Lobo, the donor of the original friary land), Blossom Fernandes, and Elias Fernandes were present.

On this occasion, souvenir on the life of Capuchins – a book by Fr Fredrick D’Souza (pen name Brother Junifer) and ‘Gaytha Aathmik Thalo’an audio compilation of hymns by Fr Dolphy Serrao and Fr Cyprian D’Souza were released.

Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza during his presidential talk said, Capuchins are the admired priests in the world. They are renowned for their sacrifice and prayers. He wished wish them all the best and congratulated them on this occasion.

A huge crowd of people had gathered during the inauguration and lunch was also provided to the participants.
