Mangaluru, February 7: The inauguration of ‘International Bunts Welfare Trust’ begun under the chairmanship of A Sadananda Shetty and ‘Bunta siri’ kalavaibhava-2015 was held in the city at TMA Pai hall on Saturday, February 7th.
The occasion was inaugurated by Dr N V Hegde, the Chancellor of NITTE University by symbolically watering the coconut tree.
Speaking on the occasion he said, International Bunts Welfare Trust was formed with a sole intention of bringing about a reform in the society. This trust which was begun by like-minded people, intends to help the needy, he said.
The website of the trust was launched by the renowned writer Arya Laxmi Narayana Alwa in the beginning of the function. On this occasion, Nadoja Kayyara Kinjanna Rai who marked his century was rendered a verbal honour, proposed by Navneeth Shetty.
On this occasion the guests, Health Minister U T Khadar, MCC Mayor Mahabala Marla, MLA JR Lobo, Ramanath Rai- honorary president of Bunts Samaj, Nalin Kumar Kateel- honorary councillor, working President Amar Nath Shetty, MLC Ivan D’Souza, MLA Moideen Bava, former Minister Monappa Bhandari, MCC opposition party leader Pemanath Shetty, Meenakshi, Jayaram N. Alva, AK Shetty- president of A. J. hospital, Karnir Vishwanath Shetty, Popular Jagdish Shetty, KR Shetty, Bunts Association former president Balakrishna Shetty , Devicharan Shetty, Raj Gopal Rai, Myna Shetty, Gurukiran- Music Director, Sureshchandra Shetty, Jagannath Shetty and others were present on the dais.
The dignitaries were welcomed by A Sadananda Shetty- president of International Bunts Welfare Trust. The program was compeered Bhaskar Rai Kukkuvalli. Prayer song was sung by Trisha Shetty.
Variety cultural programme “Bunta Siri” Kalavaibhava-2015 which comprised of dance, costumes, jokes, Buntara vaibhava, cultural programs by women, Miss bunt, Mr Bunt, Bhale Jodi namma Yajamanru, Yakshagana and music programs by renowned music director Gurukiran and team were presented on this occasion.
