Manoj- one among the students who was allegedly assaulted, narrated the incident speaking to the media and said, “Four students – Kasim, Shreeshai, Tejas and I – had been for catering job on January 14th evening, as we are financially poor and have to support ourselves with jobs. As we returned at 11.30 pm, the warden did not allow us inside and made us sleep in the veranda. He also abused us and beat us using wires. He further said, the warden always imposes fines and is too strict.

Karunakara Rai, Principal of KPT College speaking to the media said, the problem has been solved now by arriving at a compromise. The parents are forcing to maintain strict discipline. Some students go out after 6.30 pm which is the deadline, and return during late night. Few students even booze, so to maintain discipline, strict rules are imposed.
