Bhatkal, January 12: Khwaja Sayeedi, the father of Riyaz Ahmed, the terror suspect who was arrested by the Bengaluru Central Crime Branch Cops, said he was shocked to know that his son was arrested.
Riyaz Ahmed was arrested on Saturday night at the Mangaluru airport, when he was about to board a flight to Dubai.
Riyaz was employed at a hardware shop in DUbai. Sayeedi said that he had arrived home on December 8th. Riyaz’s wife had delivered a baby girl 18 days ago. He was married 18 months ago. Since 10 years, Riyaz had been living in Dubai after completing Islamic education.
Sayeedi stated that his son was innocent and that he never indulged in such activities and that he had been arrested due to wrong information provided by somebody.
He said that his last conversation with his son Riyaz over the phone was at 10.30 pm when he was supposed to board a flight at 11.30 pm. Sayeedi revealed that Riyaz’s mother Fazeela’s health condition worsened after they came to know about the arrest.
