Youth gets life imprisonment for murder.

Mangaluru, January 10: A youth who was pronounced convict in the murder case of a man has been sentenced life imprisonment by the First Additional District and Sessions Court. The convict Rajesh had murdered Sundar Poojary who failed to pay Rs 100 as agreed after luring him for gay sex.

The guilty Rajesh alias Rathish alias Raja (26), is a resident of Leela Compound, Kunjathbail Devinagara in the city. He had been charged with the murder of Sundara Poojary from Kujuma Gadde in Kolya, near Ullal Someshwar on January 20th, 2012. The judgment was delivered on Tuesday January 6th.

Sundar Poojary, had left his home on January 20th, 2012 to buy vegetables from the market who went missing. After some days, the body of a man, was recovered from a deserted well near Dobhi Ghat, Raiklway Gate, Old Kent Road, on January 28th -2012. The body was identified to be of Sundar Poojary and the cops concluded that Sundar was strangulated to death. The cops had arrested the accused on February 5th– 2012.

Charge sheet was filed by the Mangaluru South Police stated that Sunder Poojary and Rajesh had met at a market in the city post which they left to a lonely area near Dhobi Ghat. Rajesh had strangulated Sunder when the latter denied paying the promised amount of Rs 100. Rajesh had taken cell phone, a ladies watch, and Rs 20 found on the body of Sundar, tossed the body into a deserted well, and fled the venue, said the charge sheet

After examining witnesses and verifying evidences, First Additional District and Sessions Judge, B K Nayak, found Rajesh guilty, and passed the judgment on January 6th.

The rigorous life imprisonment for murder was ordered on Friday, January 9th along with fine of Rs 10,000. For engaging in unnatural sex, five years rigorous imprisonment and fine of Rs 2,000 have been imposed. In case of failure to pay this fine, the guilty will have to remain inside jail for an additional six months term. One year rigorous imprisonment and fine of Rs 1,000 have been pronounced for robbing. Two years rigorous imprisonment has been ordered for destruction of evidence.
