Moodbidri, Janaury 9: “Dr M Mohan Alva is a marvelous person. He is doing a great achievement by striving to preserve the rich cultural heritage of our country there by rendering a unique service to our society” said, Dr N Vinay Hegde, president, NITTE Education Trust, delivering his talk presiding over the inaugural program of “Alvas Virasat-2015”, a national cultural program organized at Alvas campus, Moodbidre on Thursday, January 8th.
The recipient of Alva’s Virasat award 2015, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan expressed his gratitude for selecting him as the awardee.
“Music is a mother who has created the world. The south Indians have realized the significance of music to a great extent. Program such as Alvas Virasat is not organized in any part of teh globe. This exhibits the capability of Dr Mohan Alva”, said Ustad Amjad Ali Khan speaking after receiving the ‘Alva’s Virasat 2015 Award’ at Alva’s College.
Minister B Ramanath Rai, Mr Ramanath Rai, Minister of forestry, environment and wild life department, government of Karnataka, who inaugurated the event, addressing the audience said, “Virasat is a unique program which exhibits variety art and culture to the people.
Lauding Dr Mohan Alva, he said Dr Alva also recognizes and honors various talents. In his institution, equal prominence is given to education, sports, and cultural activities. Alvas Virasat is a program which is the medium to foster integrity. A small place such as Moodbidre is gaining special recognition through the program organized here,
the synonym for Moodbidri is Mohan Alva, said Rai.
