Mangaluru, December 31: A public meet was organized as part of the 21st conference of the Dakshina Kannada District CPI(M) on Tuesday, December 30th, at Mangaluru.
CPI(M) workers went on a rally from Ambedkar Circle to Nehru Maidan.
The conference was inaugurated by PK Sreemathi Teacher, MP from Kannur as well as CPI(M) Central Committee Member.
Addressing the gathering, she expressed that the Make in India Campaign of the BJP government at the Centre would not benefit the nation. She insisted that instead of Make in India, the government should go in for a Work in India campaign in order to employ the unemployed.
Sreemathi has also charged the Union Government of framing policies that benefit the corporate. She stated that the BJP Government at the Centre which came to power with many promises not working towards accomplishing it. It has failed even to keep up the promise of bringing black money back to the nation.
GV Srirama Reddy, CPI(M) State Secretary said that the BJP government is propagating neoliberal and fascist ideologies. He also said that the government has failed to curb communalism.
In the meeting, CPI(M) leader V J K Nair, KR Sriyan, J Balakrishna Shetty, Vasanth Achari, Sunil Kumar Bajal and others had participated.
