Mangaluru, December 31: A man has been charged for allegedly circulating a modified image of health and family welfare minister U T Khadar in WhatsApp-social media.
The accused is Naresh Gatty, resident of Thokkottu, Mangaluru. He allegedly sent a modified image of Khadar over the poster of Aamir Khan’s latest movie ‘PK’, with a Pakistani flag and abusive words scribbled across.
Hameed Hasan- chief secretary of Tulunada Rakshana Vedike had filed a complaint in this regard at Ullal police station.
Hasan has stated in his complaint that he started a WhatsApp group in which people he knew, including U T Khadar, were members. During the early hours on December 25th, Naresh had sent a modified image of Khadar to him, which hurts the sentiments, stated the complaint.
Naresh was arrested and case was registered under sections 66(A) and 67 of the Information Technology Act.
Cops are investigating the case.
