Bike ambulance expected soon at Mangaluru- Khader

Mangaluru, December 30: U T Khader, Minister for Health and Family Welfare speaking to the media said, as many as 35 kids from the district are selected below five years of age to undergo cochlear implantation surgery under Shravana Bhagya Scheme.

Talking to the media persons on Tuesday, December 30th, Khader said, the government will bear the cost of each surgery (Rs 6.5 lacs) and the surgery will be conducted at Indira Gandhi Institute of Child Health in Bengaluru. He said, the beneficiaries were selected after being tested by various experts.

He further said, pending salary will be soon granted to as many as 93 NCD staff, 15 lab technicians and 2 councilors who are working in Primary Health Centers under National Rural Health Mission.

Khader informed that Bengaluru will be the first city to get bike ambulance and the same will be launched in the last week of January, 2015. After Bengaluru, bike ambulance will be launched in Mangaluru and these bike ambulances will operate in Mangaluru City Corporation limits, he added.

Khader conversing about Bengaluru blast being politicized said that it was not right to politicize the issue of blast. People should find out ways to tackle such incidents, he said.

He also said the culprits ought to be severely punished, so that such incidents do not repeat in future.
