Mangalore, May 21:  Rashmiparvathi has now made her home town and district proud by winning a gold for her science project in the international sustainable world energy engineering environment project Olympiad (1-SWEEP) 2013 held in Houston, Texas, USA from May 8 to 12.

Earlier to this a highly talented girl from Puttur had invented a remedy for skin ailments through her invention of a salt extract from coconut palm petiole.

Rashmiparvathi,a resident of Nekkila in Bannur,Puttur taluk not only brilliant student  but also scored 93% in her 11 PUC exams, wants to pursue her further study at Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore opting basic science.

She had participated in I-SWEEP along with other Indian delegates Ayush Panara from Rajkot, Nambirajan Konar, Kushal Suvarna, Dhayaneshwari and Manoj Kumar from Mumbai. SWEEP an international science fair focuses on energy, engineering and environmental projects.

Rashmiparvathi had earlier been achievers in the Indian Science and Engineering Fair (INSEF) organized by science society of India (SSI) at I-SWEEP, the Indian team won two silvers and one bronze medal.
