Mangalore, May 21:Addresing the press reporters in the press meet held on May 21,Tuesday Sridhara Gowda K,President,Endo Virodhi Horata Samiti said in his speech that in view of providing suitable compensation and facilities for the Endosulfane victims,samiti has decided to hold “Bangalore Chalo” protest on June 7 at Freedom park, Bangalore.
He also informed that Endosulfane victims from the region voluntarily will come forward and gather at Sreekshethra Southadka, Kokkada at 4.00 pm on June 6, and participate in the “Bangalore Chalo”protest.
Endo- Virodhi Horata Samiti had decided to hold this protest on May 21 but when samiti members met forest minister Ramanatha Rai, he has advised the samiti to postpone until the new cabinet is formed and thus now this “Bangalore Chalo” protest will be held on June 7, he said
He further added that Samiti would like to bring to the notice of new government about the sufferings and plight of Endosulfane victims and have already forwarded the memorandum appealing chief minister along with his cabinet ministers to visit the Freedom Park and to come out with some permanent remedial solution for never-ending sufferings of Endosulfane victims.
If chief minister does not come out with some solutions for the victims, we will walk from Freedom Park to Vidhana soudha and protest in front of the vidhana soudha for three hours, he added.
It has been reported that total cost of this protest is expected to be around Rs eleven lakh and 30 busses have been arranged to ferry the protestors. Besides some doctors, volunteers are expected to join in this protest.
