Mangaluru, December 24: Recent reports state that the woman and a boy, who were arrested at Mumbai airport recently claiming to be the wife and son of underworld don Ravi Poojary, actually were not at all the family members of Ravi Poojary.
Now it is being said that the woman named Sridevi Santosh Poojary was intercepted at the airport as a Look Out Notice had been issued for a woman of the same name in connection with an extortion case in Mangaluru in 2012.
It is gathered that, the woman and her son whose name is Aryan (even Ravi Poojary’s son’s name is Aryan) were about to fly to Abu Dhabi.
Police sources say Ravi Poojary’s wife’s name is Sridevi and that though police had arrested her in a fake passport case in 2005. She was released on bail; post which she had fled the nation with a passport in the name of Sridevi Santosh Poojary.
The Mangaluru cops are probing the mother and son detained in Mumbai to verify their identity.
Sources said that the detained reside at Borivili in Mumbai and even a retired police officer from Mumbai staying in their neighbourhood has confirmed that the duos are not related to Ravi Poojary.
