Mangaluru, December 13: The duo who were plotting for a robbery was arrested by city Crime Branch cops on Friday December 12th.
The accused are residents of Gurupur namely, Ashfaq (24), and Mohammed Rafiq alias Thote Rafiq (42). They were arrested at Nantoor.
Cops have seized a fake revolver, three live bullets, a sharp weapon, and two cell phones from the accused.
Other persons who were with accused have escaped.
Among the accused, Ashfaq had been arrested four years ago in a connection to the stabbing of a youth at Bajpe.
Directed by Police Commissioner R Hitendra, this operation was carried out under the guidance of DCP Dr K V Jagadish, crime branch DCP Vishnuvardhan, and the team was led by CCB inspector Valentine D’Souza, PSI Shyamsunder and other cops.
