Mangaluru, December 11: Police Commissioner R Hithendra has said that in the stabbing incident which took place at Katipalla, Suratkal one among the accused has revealed that the attack was done with the intension of provoking communal tension in the vicinity.
Taslim Arif(29), a resident of Katipalla Krishnapura, was stabbed by miscreants on December 9th.
Commissioner said that police acted swiftly and within a span of few hours arrested those who attacked Taslim Arif. The cops nabbed the accused with the help of some eyewitnesses. The arrested person has revealed the names of others who have allegedly involved in the attack, he said.
Hithendra said that some people are trying to disrupt peace in the city by provoking communal hatred. He has warned that the cops are prepared to handle such incidents and take stringent actions those who are involved in violating peace.
