Mangaluru, December 8: Jyothi Raj, Celebrated rock and wall climber titled as ‘Kothi Raja’, with his startling skills, climbed the 24-flooreyed Inland Windsors in Maryhill within a span of 15 minutes and surprised Mangalureans.
Jyothi Raj climbed the building with his skills using a safety rope. In 15 minutes, he could he climb up 24 floors and hoisted the Karnataka flag. The crowd that gathered at the venue gave him a big round of applause as he moved over the last floor and completed his mission.
Kothi Rama said, this was the tallest building he had ever climbed in his life. His dream is to climb the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, and thereby make India proud.
He had visited Mangaluru accompanied by a team of 17 members. He also promoted his forthcoming movie ‘Jyothi Raj Alias Kothi Raja’.
Jyothi Raj has previously recovered bodies from Jog Falls, undertaking great risk, and even retrieved a car from a lake.
Kothi Raja was felicitated by Siraj Ahmed Managing Director and chairman of In-Land Group in a press meet.
Siraj Ahmed said, “Kothi Raja wished to climb the building without any safety rope, but I did not want him to risk his life. Hence, I requested him to use the safety rope”. He also granted Rs one lakh for Kothi Raj’s training academy in Chitradurga.
Conversing on his experience in climbing the building Inland Windsors, he said, “It was very easy to climb the building as he did not make any special moves. To climb rocks we have to change moves as there are different angles and structures, but here it is not so.”
He also requested people to watch his upcoming movie and support him. He also thanked the media for supporting him, especially by collecting Rs 5 lakhs when he had sustained injury.
On this occasion, actress Deepika Das, Sebastian David- director of ‘Jyothi Raj Alias Kothi Raja’, and others were present.
