Mangalore, December 4: The eighth RX Life Hercules Cycle rally will take place at Mangaluru on Sunday, December 7th organised by Swasthi Rx Life Trust informed Dr Gayathri Bhat, the trustee of Swasthi Rx Life Trust in a press meet held here.
Gayathri informed this at a press meet organised at the Mangaluru press club and said R Hithendra, the Police Commissioner of Mangaluru will inaugurate this cycle rally which begins at 6.30 am from Lady Hill and covers a distance of 18 kilometre’s.
The Rally would pass through Kottara,Kuloor, Tannirbavi, Kottara – Urvastore – Ashoknagar – Hoigebail – Batteri and concludes at Amrita Vidyalayam School Gounds, Boloor and the culmination program will take place at around 9.30 a.m. She said, this year, over 2,000 members are expected to participate in this rally.
Purpose:
The focus this time is ROAD SAFETY. The punch line is ‘Safe Roads, Safer Rides’. All the banners and hoardings propagate road safety slogans. This rally would help to urge the concerned to follow the traffic signals and ensure safety for the two wheeler riders, and inspire the four wheeler drivers take more concern about the bi-cycle riders.
Enrollment Rules:
To ensure smooth functioning of the Rally, and to make necessary arrangements, the participants are requested to enroll their names as soon as possible.
Every participant needs to enroll and get a Rider Identity No. Card and Cycle Identity No. Sticker. The enrollment can be made at RX Life centers in Mannagudda or Pandeshwar (Phone: 2457192 or website: wwww.rxlife.in)
The last day for enrollment is fixed as 5th December. Both the centers are open from 8.00 a. m to 8.00 p.m.
Any individual aged above 10 years can participate in this rally informed Gayathri and revealed that a veteran 82 year old citizen had participated in the rally last year.
Volunteers:
Nearly 200 volunteers are participating in this rally. A pilot jeep would head the rally. An ambulance with Team of Doctors from KSHEMA would follow. Cycle Rescue Vans would attend break down calls. Water points, orange points, dry fruits points would be on the way. Yojaka group has agreed to extend support at the re-grouping point on Tannirbavi Beach. YHAI, Team Mangalore, Rxlife Family, C.A. students Association and mainly with the help of Mangaluru and Suratkal Police this rally is organised. Sticker depicting “Save Nethravathy” would be stuck to each cycle to create some awareness against the Nethravathy river diversion project.
PHOTO CONTEST:-
A photography contest would be held during the rally. It is open to all. The theme is Cycle Rally. The photo has to be clicked during the Rally (between 6 a. m to 10. a.m.). The best three photographs which bagg’s first, second and third place will be awarded the cash prizes. Mobile photographs are excused.
