Failed attempt to sell Antlers- Trio seized by CCB cops along with a drug peddler.

Mangaluru, December 3: The CCB cops led by inspector Valentine D’Souza arrested trio who were illegally attempting to sell antlers at Moodbidre.

The accused are Mohammed Waseer (22), resident of Puttige Padavu, Sampige post, Mangaluru taluk, Firoz Khan (30), resident of Narasimha block, Bengaluru, and Girish (23), resident of Chennagiri, Davangere.

The trio were arrested near Moodbidri bus stand. The cops raided their Maruti Omni while they were transporting the antlers and nabbed them. This operation was conducted based on information that the accused had illegally transported the antlers from Ubrani in Davangere and were planning to sell them here.

The cops have recovered four pairs of antlers, Maruti Omni, and four cell phones from the accused. The total worth of the seized items is estimated to be Rs 5 lakhs.

The trio accused have been handed over to Moodbidri cops and further investigation is in progress.

Drug peddler held by CCB cops team in Mangaluru.

On the same day, in another operation, a drug peddler was caught by the City Crime Branch cops near a hotel in Mahaveer circle, here on Tuesday, December 2nd.

The accused is Umesh (33) resident of Jappinamogaru. The CCB team led by inspector Valentine D’Souza carried out the operation. The cops have recovered two cell phones and 500grams ganja worth Rs 10,000 from him.

During probe, Umesh has revealed that ganja was secretly supplied to undertrials in the jail too.

The Umesh as well as the recovered hallucinogens were handed over to the Mangaluru rural cops for further investigation.

Under the direction of police commissioner R Hitendra, and guided by DCP (law and order) Dr K V Jagadeesh and DCP (traffic) Vishnuvardhan, this operation was conducted.

Further investigations are underway.
