Mangaluru, November 18: It is unfortunate that atrocities on women are rising in our country which has the long tradition of worshipping women. The government should enforce stringent laws to prevent this. I oppose the statements of Muthalik which shows cruelty, said the former central minister B Janardhan Poojary.
Janardhan Poojary spoke at a press meet on Monday, November 17th organised at Shree Kudroli Gokarnanatha Temple and said, everyone knows the nature of torment given to the women during the pub attack by the activists of Muthalik’s association. But now the leader of the association while speaking about the harassment on women insists to oppose the atrocities on women and not to provoke it.
In the recent days rape cases are registered continually which are being carried on from three year old child to age old women. The government must conduct detailed investigation on the rape cases and take stringent actions on the offenders.
Poojary also suggested that without handing over such cases to the CBI or COD, the cops themselves have to collect all the evidences patiently and trace the actual offenders, and also said stringent actions must be taken on the prosecutors who allow the offenders to escape easily in such cases.
Administrative board member of the Shrine H S Sairam, Vice-president Raghavendra Kulur, Treasurer Padmaraj R (Advocate), trustees Dr B G Suvarna, Harikrishna Bantwal, Devdas, Devendra Poojary, Mahesh Chandra, Leelaksha Karkera and others were present in the press meet.
