Moodbidri, November 17: The mesmerizing 11th edition of the cultural fest Alva’s Nudisiri culminated at Alvas campus Vidyagiri with Nadoja Dr Siddalingaiah urging the state government to take initiative to include Kasargod back to Karnataka State.
The cultural summit ended with the awesome presentation of the cultural activities and “Alvas Nudisiri” award presentation to the achievers in various fields.
The Alvas Nudisiri was organized under the leadership of the chairman of the Alvas Foundation Dr Mohan Alva, which was inaugurated by the literaturist, children’s author, Dr Na D’souza on November 14th by lighting a lamp. The chairmanship of three day’s program was taken by the renowned poet, author Dr Siddalingaiah.
The Alvas Nudisiri award:
“Alvas Nudisiri” awards were felicitated during the valedictory function to the unique scientist, Dr Sanghamesha Savadathimatha, writer, reasearcher Professor Vassantha Kusthagi, renowned poet, columnist Professor H S Shivaprakash, inventor Professor Sah Shetter , poet Dr Malathi Pattanna Shetty, actor, director T S Nagabharan, organiser Professor Heranje Krishna Bhatta, folk scholar, renowned singer Banandur Kempaiah, Yakshagana Savyasachi Shree Mantapa Prabhakara Upadya, dancer Vidushi Dr Vasundhara Doraiswamy, renowned chariot architect Ashwathapura Baburaya Acharya, all together 10 eminent achievers were presented “Alvas Nudisiri” awards.
Tulu-Konkani-Beary conference:
In order to know about the cultures of various communities, this year equal platform was provided to Tulu-Konkani-Beary language conference each day consequently. The achievers in each language were felicitated during the program and seminars were also conducted. The cultural activities were organised to introduce each culture was presented from 6.30 pm to 10 pm.
More than 200 Kannada book stalls, food courts and other stalls were also situated in the Nudisiri program. Free accommodation and food was also provided to the students from other colleges who were requested to arrive along with their college identification cards who wished to participate in the program.
