Mangaluru, November 12: A protest was held at a ground near Thokkottu bus stand by Vishwa Hindu Parishat and Hindu Jagarana Vedike on Wednesday, November 12th to protest against anti Hindu policies and enforcement of Goonda law on Hindu organizations by the state government.

Former MLA K Jayarama Shetty addressing the protestors said, the state government has been biasing one community and supporting the other. Congress is allergic towards Hindus, he said.

He said cases are registered against activists who fight against terrorism, conversion and love Jihad, which is condemnable. The government is about to file complaints against five persons under Goonda law in Ullal police station limits.

Superstitious law and stay on anti cow slaughter bill are meant to hinder the Hindu feelings. A situation has aroused where the entire society will fight for their rights. The protests in the district are a part of such agitation said Vishwa Hindu Parishat district president Jithendra Kottari.

Satyajit Suratkal, state convener of Hindu Jagaran Vedike queried, “Why is there no law against notorious people in Ullal? Why has the government failed to impose Goonda act against accomplices of Dawood Ibrahim and Chota Shakeel including Rashid Malabari, Madooru Isubu, Dawood, Sahil Madooru Nasir, Bodda Lathif, Asgar Ali etc. Why is that law not applied in the case of Deralakatte Medical student main rape accused Safwan?. He also said, law does not grant any provision to transport animals for slaughter and even Holy Quran opposes it.

He also queried pointing the incidents of “Those who had attacked SI Bharathi with knives when she had gone to arrest alleged transporters of cattle, Konaje SI Sudhakar who had been to arrest alleged kidnappers and rapists of Deralakatte student and attackers of Kadri SI and Mangalore traffic police constable all belong to one community. The government has ensured that the suspects are not punished in the police station. However the police have tortured Kavoor’s Charan who was not involved in any serious offense. The police have tried to close the death case of drug addict Vikas which happened in Goa.”

Vishwa Hindu Parishat Ullal secretary Narayana Kumpala welcomed and compered the programme. Hindu Jagarane Vedike head Manoj Thokottu proposed Vote of thanks.
