Mangalore, May 13: The two days Alva’s pragati-2013 fair was inaugurated at Alva’s College Moodbidri on May 11, Saturday by Sudhir Shetty, COO Global Operations, UAE Exchange and Amarnatha Shetty, former MLA.
It has been reported that with the turnout of more than 10,000 job seekers the event organized by Alva’s College has been proved to be very successful.
Giant companies like IBM, Fortis, L&T, Taj Group ,ICIC Bank, TVS, Suzlon, Mphasis, TAFE, Axis Bank, Gold Finch, Xchanging,Titan,Videocon,Fabtech,Aditya Birla group and UAE Exchange have registered their names for job fair and there are over 7000 openings, sources said.
Dr.Mohan Alva, Chairman of Alva’s Foundation, who presided over the function, said students from across the state can take part in the job fair.
Sudhir Shetty, COO Global operation, UAE Exchange said in his speech that aspirants must not merely rely on their academic achievements and should have the capabilities to expose their sincereity, commitment, punctuality and dedication towards their work while serving in any of the companies to give his/her best if they are being absorbed. These qualities are very good tools in one’s life in moulding their future and to enhance their skills/talents/knowledge along with their academic achievements, he said.
Vivek Alva, Managing trustee of Alva’s Education Foundation said 10356 students participated in the job fair and which will continue even till the end of the fair.
