Udupi, November 5: The new Deputy Commissioner of Udupi District Dr R Vishal takes charge on Wednesday, November 5th.The charge was handed over to him by the DC S S Pattanna Shetty in the Deputy Commissioner’s Office at Manipal.
Dr R Vishal speaking to the media said that he would first study about the various problems faced by the District and find feasible solutions. He said, his first priority would be to ensure the landless to provide land and also improve the health sector.
When queried about the naxal menace, Dr R Vishal said that he will study the matter thoroughly and later he will find out better ways to tackle it.
The appointment of Dr Vishal as the DC was announced on October 28th by the state government after transferring Pattana Shetty just about two months after taking charge.
Dr R Vishal, has also served as the Deputy Commissioner of Chikkaballapur, Additional Commissioner (elections) in Bangalore Bruhat Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) and commissioner of food, civil supplies and consumer affairs department.
Dr Vishal who is 37 years old completed his MBBS from KIMS, Hubli post which he got through the IAS examinations in 2004.
