Mangalore, November 1: In relation to the brutal murder of Ijaz (28) which took place near Adyar here on Friday October 31st, cops have taken two under custody.
Ijaz, had visited a salon at Kannur at around 11 am on Friday was murdered by a gang yesterday. 32 wound marks were found on his body.
It is said that Ijaz, a bachelor, was involved in ganja trafficking, and an environment of intense enemity had developed between two gangs which had engaged in the same trade. The opposite gang, which was waiting for a good opportunity, killed their enemy on Friday.
It is gathered that, the gang members seemed to know that Ijaz visited this salon every Friday morning before attending prayers at the local mosque in the afternoon. It is said that the gang which had planned to eliminate Ijaz had appointed a spy in advance to check whether their target was inside the salon or not. As soon as they got the confirmation, gang rushed to the spot and hacked Ijaz to death.
Ijaz had involved in the murder of Sannaputta alias Puttu Monu at Kannur in March 2012, and the hearing in the third JMFC court here was in progress. Brother of Ijaz reportedly had attacked Puttu Monu, after which Monu underwent prolonged treatment in a hospital. A year ago, the Puttu Monu gang attacked Ijaz. Later, a gang led by Ijaz’s brother reportedly eliminated Puttu Monu.
Suspicions have aroused that the murder of Ijaz would have been done to avenge the revenge of Puttu Monu’s murder.
