Mangalore, October 23: It has been decided by the Mangalore City Corporation to introduce high tech toilets or E toilets sooner in Mangalore city.
The high tech toilets are box shaped with overhead water tanks. The E toilets will be erected throughout the city in crowded areas. E toilet is potable.
The operation of E toilets is completely automatic. On inserting a coin in the specified slot, the door opens. After the toilet is used, the water system automatically flushes the toilet and a pleasant fragrance is released to freshen up the atmosphere inside. The door closes automatically when a person exits.
The toilets are situated close to the drainage systems. There is also a provision to connect solar power to these toilets instead of normal electricity supply.
A discussion has been carried on by the Mangalore City Corporation with a Saudi based company operating from Kerala to provide these e toilets.
