Mangalore, October 21: The Police Martyr’s Day was observed by the district police at CRP ground in Mangalore on Tuesday October 21st remembering the police men who sacrificed their lives for our country. This day October 21st is observed as Police Martyr’s Day across the nation.

The police flag was lowered for two minutes and two minutes silent prayer was observed. Dignitaries offered garland to the martyrs memorial.

The police commissioner R Hithendra said, this year 659 police men have lost their lives on duty in various incidents across the country.

District & Sessions Judge of Dakshina Kannada Uma M. G was invited as the chief guest at the programme. IGP Amrit Pal, Police commissioner R Hitendra and Superintendent of Police (SP) Dr Sharanappa were present among other cops.
