Mangalore, October 18: The yearly Diwali lamp competition which will be organised by the “Namma Kudla” Tulu journal will take place at Shree Kudroli Gokarnanatha Sanctum this year at 4pm on October 21st. This competition will be conducted in 3 sectors such as Traditional, modern and unique model, informed the director of Namma Kudla Harish B Karkera.
Speaking at a press meet here on Saturday he said, the competitors have to reach the venue before 4pm on the day of competition and have to inform about their choices. They have to bring the needed things by themselves. Prominence will be given to the lamps designed only themselves. They should ensure not to hamper the discipline and cleanliness of the sanctum. The first and second places in each section will be felicitated with gold medals. Consolation prizes will be given to the lamps which will be appreciated by the jury and mementos will be distributed to all the participants. A special prize will be given to the board which brings the highest number of lamps.
The Namma Tuluve-Special award- would be felicitated for the great achievers of Tulunadu who raise the name and fame of this land; will be felicitated this year to Mr P Jayaram Bhat- the administrative director of Karnataka Bank.
During this completion, those who render their special service in the field of Literature, arts and culture will be awarded. This year, the chairman of the DK district Kannada Sahitya Parishat and Kalkura Prathistan S Pradeep Kumar Kalkura will be felicitated.
For the first of its kind Namma Kudla- Birse award will be felicitated to successful entrepreneur Mr Ganesh Kamath Moodbidri- proprietor of G.K.Decorators who on losing both of his hands in an accident, is independently striving to provide jobs to many to gain their bread. The Namma Kudla Manadigeda Samma award will be felicitated to multi-talent Master Rahul Tushar Kunder(MBA), explained the programme compeerer of the association Kadri Navaneeth Shetty.
